The Place & Wellbeing Alliance has been one mechanism of enabling an equal and on-going partnership approach to joint implementation and improvement of the Place Standard Tool. It convened for the first time in December 2016 and has since then met every 6 months. Over this period, it has broadened its remit taking in place-based working generally and not just the Place Standard Tool. This wider focus now considers the Place Principle, Public Health Priority for Place and other place making policies, tools and processes. Each event considers a particular hot topic, and offers the opportunity to hear the latest evidence, learn from good practice examples, and share learning, challenges, and how to overcome them. Currently there are 130 members from across Scotland offering a wealth of experience, knowledge and peer support.

Overall aim of the Place & Wellbeing Alliance

To offer a forum for stakeholders to share resources, ideas and lessons learned to enable the on-going delivery, appraisal, and improvement of place-based working.

Membership of the Place & Wellbeing Alliance

Membership is free and open to anyone representing a Scottish organisation with an interest in improving the places in which we live, play, learn, and work.

Place and Wellbeing Alliance Event - April 2024

Find resources from the Place and Wellbeing Alliance online event which took place on 18 April 2024.

This event offered members of the Place & Wellbeing Alliance (P&WA) the opportunity to review a series of ‘Town Centre Living’ events held throughout Scotland during early 2024. Delving deeper into the learning, it offered a chance to think about putting it into practice.
